| Weather Synopsis...A strong cold front has entered northwestern Oklahoma this evening, setting off a few showers and thunderstorms. The showers will likely weaken overnight, but as the front drifts slowly south, the strong south winds of earlier today will weaken before shifting quickly to the northeast. The front could make it as far south as I-40 by morning. The front will wash out by Tuesday niight, but by that time the weakening remnants of Tropical Storm "Hermine" will be approaching the region from Texas. Deep tropical moistured will overspread the southern Plains, setting the stage for a prolonged period of rain from late Tuesday into Thursday as the remnant tropical system passes through or near rthe area. Flooding will become an increasing risk from Tuesday night into Thursday, especially over western north Texas and central and eastern Oklahoma. (from NWS Norman) | |
